Mother of Archie (Mr Chillax), Philly has sung professionally in the UK, the U.S. and in Dubai. Whilst at University in San Diego, she met Gregory Porter who ignited her love of Jazz. Philly has written two albums and loves to sing lullabies for the Jazzabyebabies! Philly likes to make sure that all her Jazzabyebabies are comfortable so please make full use of all the rugs, blankets and baby accoutrements.
A classically trained Indian percussionist, Hanif is a versatile performer and has accompanied acclaimed artists such as Ustad Fateh Ali Khan, among many others. Our jazzabyebabies love to watch and hear his mind boggerling vocal beats as well as the speed at which his hands move!
Max specialises in soul and funk so when he plays for us, our jazzabyebabies can't help but move to the scrunchy chords & funky sounds! As a composer, producer and instrumentalist he is currently finishing his Debut album with "The Breaks" Due mid 2016. Watch this space jazzabyebabies!
Spanish pianist via New York, Victor Gutierrez is an arranger and award-winning composer. He is currently on a scholarship studying for a Masters at the Royal Academy of Music. He has performed in venues and festivals globally including the United Nations, London Jazz Festival, New York Arts Festival, Smolna Chopin International Festival of Warsaw, Seven Arts Leeds, Mandala Tokyo, among others. Will is a London-based pianist currently studying at the Royal academy of music. He has appeared as part of many different projects at venues such as the 606 Club, Ronnie Scott's, the Bull's Head and the Vortex Jazz Club. Will's solos are rich and dreamy, indeed Chucho Valdés described his playing as "sensitive and fluid - a beautiful sound."
Jim is studying Jazz at the Royal Academy of Music. He has performed at Ronnie Scott’s and regularly plays with The Callum Au Big Band, and The National Youth Jazz Orchestra, in which he plays lead alto. With NYJO, he has played at the Proms, on BBC’s The One Show, and on BBC Radio 4’s The Today Show. Jim, an Oxford graduate, is our resident brainbox - any jazzabyebabies who manage to ask Jim a question he can't answer will earn mega brownie points!
Listen carefully and you will be able to hear the resonant tones of Inga on her beautiful double bass. She has played for many years and in diverse venues including Ronnie Scott's, Latitude festival and Buckingham Palace. Inga has just recorded an EP with the Best Emerging Jazz Artist nominees: the all female septet Nerjia whom she also writes music for. Inga is our resident mystic, you may find her bass playing has an Eastern hue - Inga is a student of Pandit Kumar, a great traditional Indian musician. Namaste!
